I work directly out of Dropbox, so all my design work is always backed up and accessible. With notifications enabled, my engineers can see what I’m designing and what’s coming up next.
Our engineers drove the adoption of Slack early on, and we've fully embraced it. Custom emojis are used heavily at Zola – we have one for Jake Gyllenhaal sightings at La Colombe and sweetgreen icons for lunch requests. We also love the integrations into Zendesk, New Relic, Dropbox, etc.
Sketching is the fastest way for me to iterate and share ideas. Once we feel great about the direction, we bring it into Illustrator to further define the user flows and wireframes.
Given our past experience at Gilt, we decided to use a familiar tool. JIRA is used across our organization – tracking issues, managing weekly sprints, producing marketing assets, and prioritizing product photo shoots.
