Quip has understood and exploited the frustration people feel with Google Drive’s feature where only one person can own a file - and Quip has entered the arena to tackle this problem. Quip fixes a problem that Google Drive misses. Quip is gaining traction and is definitely a company on the rise.
Their biggest asset is that you can easily “create and manage content with your team.” It also allows you to quickly and efficiently communicate with your team without having to go through lengthy email chains.
Pricing: Quip has a free and a paid for version. The highlighted deal on their website for businesses cost $12/user/month, which comes with unlimited users on your account and enhanced security features. The upgrade to the enterprise version, which costs $25/user/month, adds a dedicated account manager and customization.
It is definitely worth trying Quip to see if it is a good fit with your company and team. We do not think it will disappoint.
Concur benefits startups that have a lot of travel invoicing and expensing needs. Like other accounting tools, Concur covers the basics of expensing and invoicing across the company and presents these reports in a helpful intelligence dashboard.
Concur places heavy emphasis on travel features. It tracks travel booking and travel expensing across companies successfully and dedicates much of its interface to managing travel. Additionally, Concur claims that its automation lowers the cost of every expense report transaction. Its mobile app will also shorten expense approval cycles, making sure that claims are processed with less hassle and in a timely manner.

Pricing: Concur is relatively cheap, with its small business option coming in at $8/user/month. This includes one-click expense report creation and digital receipt management. The professional and premium versions, both which cost a custom price, include travel allowance for countries worldwide and custom insight powered by Cognos.
If your company revolves around travel, definitely go for Concur, no brainer. No other tool is so well geared towards making sure travel reporting is highly organized and nothing slips through the cracks.
Big tools are big for a reason, they work and they work well. A tool only becomes an industry standard if it is useful. However, tools can become so dominant that they overshadow the competition. And many of the little guys still have a ton merit and do an outstanding job of fulfilling the needs of startups. It is ultimately up to you to decide which tools best fit your business’ needs, but I urge you not to forget the smaller tools. They might just be the next big thing.
