12feb6:30 pm9:00 pmOrganic Marketing: Strategies for Startups

Event Details

Join us on February 12th as we celebrate marketers and founders who have run successful organic marketing campaigns on virtually no budget. This is a panel discussion to help you think outside the box of what is possible in marketing right now.

When you’re in the early stages of your startup, it can be hard to find funds or validate spending money on advertising and marketing. As a workaround, entrepreneurs have found scrappy and creative ways to build brand awareness and acquire new users organically.

Most likely, you’re an entrepreneur on a lean budget. Regardless of whether or not you’ve raised money, you’re acutely sensitive to the limits of what you can do in a pay-to-play world.

About the speakers

  • Emmanuel Straschnov is Co-Founder of Bubble. Bubble is a visual programming software that makes programming as easy as pointing and clicking. Bubble counts more than 150,000 users; people have used it to start companies without technical resources, and got into YCombinator, 500 Startups or raised multi-million dollar rounds. Born in Paris, Emmanuel studied computer science and mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior to starting Bubble, he was a management consultant in China. He’s now based in New York.
  • Kaylin Marcotte is the Founder & CEO of JIGGY, a new direct-to-consumer puzzle brand on a mission to modernize and elevate the humble jigsaw. Prior to launching JIGGY, Kaylin founded Village Strategies, a marketing consultancy, and was the first employee at theSkimm, running its community marketing, social media and Skimm’bassadors. Kaylin holds a BA in political science and economics from Barnard College. She lives in Brooklyn, NY and spends her free time doing jigsaw puzzles of course, and running Project Plastick with her sister, Mackenzie.
  • Sydney Cooper is the Public Relations Manager at Fi, the brand bringing modern technology to the traditional dog collar. The Fi collar connects to an app on your phone, so you can track your pup’s every step and exact location – leveraging bluetooth & GPS technology to make ‘Lost Dog’ fliers obsolete. Sydney is responsible for shaping and communicating Fi’s brand ethos to the media, ideating and executing PR campaigns, as well as ensuring brand message cohesion across all departments. Prior to her role at Fi, Sydney worked at Small Girls PR on fashion accounts including Moda Operandi, Betsey Johnson, and Rent the Runway, crafting data-driven storylines and maintaining frequent media coverage.
