Garrison Gibbons
Head of People at Knotch
Garrison (he/him) currently works as the Head of People at Knotch, overseeing the HR department – including strategy, DEI, talent, culture, and operations. Prior to Knotch, he worked at Mic in People Operations. He led the transition to Bustle Digital Group when they acquired Mic. He as also worked in the fitness industry in People and Operations – first at Barry’s, before being brought on as hire #5 at Rumble.
Being mission driven, Garrison has worked exclusively for companies who make an impact. He uses this mentality to impact morale and culture. He’s an expert in innovating, elevating, and scaling practices and policies, particularly in the startup and hyper-growth space. His personal values are leading with empathy, practicing proactive transparency, and fostering an inclusive environment. He is openly queer and works heavily in in the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging space.
Garrison was recently named one of Crain’s New York’s 20 in Their 20’s.
He lives (and currently works) in Harlem with his partner of nine years, Jay, and his eight-year-old dog, Bindi.
