We chose Close.io as we didn’t want to dive into Salesforce because once you start, you end up in a black hole of additional services. We have an integration between Close.io and MailChimp.
We don’t like Skype but it’s essential for communicating internationally.
Slack can get very easily overused, the identification is a real mess, and it adds another inbox that you have to check regularly. It would be great if you could do everything through it but at this point we are still not able to.
We started off with Intercom but we moved to Agent Q. It has a better price point than Intercom and it does the same thing. It’s a startup of a friend of mine so I can ask him for the features that I want.
MailChimp is okay. Most of those email marketing tools do pretty much the same thing. We started with MailChimp and we already have transactions on there so we’re sticking with them.
GitHub is nice if you want to build a community around your project. We host open source projects.
Datadog does exactly what it says it does. It rarely has some connectivity problems that may lead to two false positives, but it’s a perfect tool for the right price.
