We exclusively communicate through Slack. We used to have Slack integrated with Asana, but it wasn’t too useful. Every time someone would post a project, edit or add a comment in Asana, it would show up in Slack. Too much clutter showed up; it got too noisy. Slack has also been very good for our customer support since we’ve integrated it with Help Scout.
We moved to Gusto from Zenefits. We can do our payroll through Gusto, and it does everything Zenefits did, with regards to benefits, etc. It’s also faster, has a better user experience, and the Gusto team is more helpful than the Zenefits team. The Zenefits platform was physically slow to use; it had tons of bugs. We’re very happy with Gusto; it's a great platform. The only thing it doesn't do is onboarding and sending job offer letters.
I highly recommend ZenHub! It’s a GitHub plugin with minimal overhead. It’s very light and ties directly to GitHub.
We use GitHub for code version control management.
We use Asana for all of our project management. Asana is pretty awesome. It’s great for task lists, but for creating a roadmap, it's very challenging since everything is in a list format. The calendar view is an option, but its UI isn’t too great.
We haven't used Hootsuite in a while. We started out B2C, but then we realized our business model was more B2B, so we've left it behind. But it is a great service, and it’s very useful.
