We use Shopify for our e-commerce platform so it was easy to sync up our website with Google Analytics. In addition, I had also used Google Analytics at my former job, so I was familiar with the platform. Google Analytics provides a wealth of data about your website and the best thing is – it’s free!
We chose Braintree because we were looking for a platform with good fraud protection and customer service, and Braintree came highly rated for both. Their customer support has been helpful with any questions or issues we have encountered. However, I did hear that Braintree may be more expensive than other processors for transaction fees, etc. so it is worth exploring other options.
I chose MailChimp after speaking with other founders. When we first launched, we didn’t have any in-house developers, and MailChimp was much easier to set up and use than other providers. MailChimp also makes tracking things like open rates, click-through rates and A/B testing extremely easy. At the beginning, when our newsletter distribution list was small, it was easy to manage within our budget. However, now that our list has grown substantially, MailChimp is much more expensive.
