Our engineering team uses New Relic on the dev side to monitor performance on the backend.
We use our own platform for analytics. We try to use it as much as possible from lead to new customer to free trial to subscription. It helps to test your own tool. For revenue subscription analytics, we’re the market leader and the most complete tool for doing subscription analytics. We’d use it whether or not we had the best solution, but I believe that we have the best tool on the market and we are the market leader in the space. We have tons of features that are useful for that kind of analysis that aren't available in any other product.
I like Close.io. I used to be a sales director at Zendesk for 5 years where I used Salesforce. I didn't want to use Salesforce when I started my own company. They give us what Salesforce is giving us but in a much more cleaner, simpler, more modern and easier to use package. Salesforce is infinitely more complex and hard to administer. At a small company we don’t want to have someone just to administer Salesforce--we want something that works out of the box. The downsides are that you don’t have an infinite feature set but we don’t really need that either right now.
For doing customer support online, I for sure think Zendesk is the best out there. Definitely by far the most comprehensive and best solution for doing reactive customer service. For proactive stuff, there’s other solutions and Zendesk may not have the best solution.
We use Intercom for life cycle drip marketing and the occasional targeted message. It’s a very good tool when I want to target just these 50 people, like just the free trial subscribers.
For HR Administration we use HeavenHR. Because we are based in Berlin, we can’t use a lot of the US HR tools. HeavenHR is okay. It’s the HR solution that’s the right balance of being a modern SaaS but also has the required features for being compliant with German law.
We use Recruitee, a Netherlands-based software for recruiting. It is a nice, solid software. It’s like Workable but cheaper which is a plus and I also think it’s nicer. It has all the features we need for our careers site. It powers the whole thing. You can also create a workflow for managing candidates.
