We’ve tried Mixpanel and Google Analytics, and we prefer Google Analytics. First off, the price can’t be beat! We also have so much data internally on our database, and we just couple that with Google Analytics, which works well for us. We don’t need Mixpanel, but Mixpanel is good if you’re not as backend-driven as we are.
We’re old school; we use Forte! They bought Payments Gateway, which we were originally on, but we’ve stuck with it because it works beautifully and is cheap. But it’s not the most aesthetically-pleasing platform. If you look at their merchant view, you think you’re back in the '80s! But it’s fine for us; just be aware there’s a little bit of a learning curve.
We use the free version of LinkedIn. It’s great because you have access to a huge pool of talent. My background is in executive search, so I’ve been using LinkedIn for years, and I like it a lot.
We tried to integrate everyone into Podio first, but then migrated from Podio because the developers wanted to use JIRA. We all use JIRA now, and it’s brilliant. The only downside is their notification system; it feels like it should’ve been upgraded years ago.
