One of the tools we use is Mad Mimi. It is similar to the other email marketing tools.

We have tried Mad Mimi in the past--it was our first tool for email. We were using the paid edition of Mad Mimi but it wasn’t doing segmentation that well. You could only create a particular webform and I could not slice and dice my email list. When you created forms and people subscribed, it put them into a default list so the management of subscribers felt very limited. I had pretty simple demands, but they were limited in them.

Mad Mimi is owned by GoDaddy. It’s very easy to use and makes nice newsletters for our subscribers. You can work up their templates really quickly. We looked through a few other providers online, and found a few people who liked Mad Mimi, so we tested it out. But, since we’re hosted on Amazon AWS, we may start using Amazon SES to do our marketing emails through that.
