Optimizely is a website optimization platform, and prides itself on being the “simple” service. It’s the quickest analytics tool to set up, the easiest to understand and enables users to easily accomplish a variety of optimization workflows, like A/B testing, personalization of content and audience segmentation. Startups especially appreciate Optimizely’s out-of-the-box analytics, which include real-time dashboards that allow them to quickly act on their data. Optimizely doesn’t have the customization capabilities of other BI platforms, but it’s a staple among companies that want their numbers delivered quickly and easily.
Optimizely is simple to use and easy to set up, but because it lacks customizability, it’s used most frequently by Seed-stage startups with simpler data needs. More mature startups put Optimizely to work, as well, but most often use it together with another, more powerful tool like Mixpanel.
Optimizely offers a free version with limited features that can only be used on one “project” (defined as one website, one iOS App and one Android App), and can only be used by three collaborators.
