PipelineDeals is awful, but it’s cheap. We get no real intelligence and no real forecasting from it. It’s all about having a good CRM administrator, which I had at a previous company. Without a good CRM administrator, it doesn’t really matter which CRM software you’re using--they’re all horrible. And the absolute worst thing you can do is let a salesperson run your CRM. It’ll be like letting the inmates run the asylum.

We were pretty close to going with PipelineDeals, but in our research we found that most of the services that had the same functions as Salesforce were approximately the same price. That wouldn't normally be a huge factor, but we were hiring a sales team and all of our potential hires already knew Salesforce.
