We use Smartsheet for our larger launches, like when we’re launching for summer camp season across multiple regions. Smartsheet reminds me of Google Docs and Excel, but a more powerful version. Both Smartsheet and Basecamp are extremely helpful, and easy to use.

We use Smartsheet for a very specific purpose: we’re using it to make a roll-up of epics, since Pivotal Tracker doesn’t do that.

We like Smartsheet. We moved our status update tracker from Google Docs to Smartsheet, and it’s pretty great for that. It’s really good for high level team management and prioritizing. But we wish they had financial reporting. And while Smartsheet is great for teamwork types of project management, for more detailed project management, we still haven’t found anything that fits our needs.

Smartsheet is a cloud-based project management and collaboration solution that behaves like a spreadsheet app. The goal of Smartsheet is to give you a familiar, highly customizable interface so that you’re ready to use it right out of the box and can tailor it to your specific needs. Because it’s so customizable, however, Smartsheet can take a bit of work to get up running and, because it combines spreadsheet abilities and project management, it’s missing some of the more specialized functions of both. Smartsheet has three pricing models. The Basic package ($14/month) offers unlimited collaborators but only one creator (everyone can use the spreadsheets, but only one person can create them), a maximum of 10 sheets and 3GB of file storage. The Team package ($39/month ) includes three creators (additional creators can be added for an extra $9 apiece), 150+ spreadsheets and 45GB of data.
