We use Smartsheet for our larger launches, like when we’re launching for summer camp season across multiple regions. Smartsheet reminds me of Google Docs and Excel, but a more powerful version. Both Smartsheet and Basecamp are extremely helpful, and easy to use.

We use Smartsheet for a very specific purpose: we’re using it to make a roll-up of epics, since Pivotal Tracker doesn’t do that.

We like Smartsheet. We moved our status update tracker from Google Docs to Smartsheet, and it’s pretty great for that. It’s really good for high level team management and prioritizing. But we wish they had financial reporting. And while Smartsheet is great for teamwork types of project management, for more detailed project management, we still haven’t found anything that fits our needs.

We use Smartsheet for bug tracking, enhancement and feature requests, as well as customer feedback. We use Smartsheet Web Forms for intake. You can fill out a form, and that feeds into a sheet. This is great for product enhancements, employee requests, and customer feedback. Everything is searchable, and it’s very easily-defined what our customers need and what our internal employees need and want. We also conduct all employee reviews using Smartsheet. We only go outside our own product if there’s literally no way we’re going to build a certain functionality, like email marketing, which is why we went with Marketo.
We use Smartsheet, of course! It’s great at all types of project management, but more importantly, we use it because it forces us to find new ways to evolve our product. Our teams use it for everything from planning marketing campaigns, to internal IT ticketing and tracking, to expense reports. We use it to manage all work across the company, and project management for every department; it’s not specialty software.
We use our own product, Smartsheet, for HR.
We’re only using Smartsheet for a couple projects where we want to specifically expose project views to clients.

Smartsheet has simple tools that make collaboration, tracking, tasking and burning down of tasks easy. It’s very easy to use, as it follows a standard spreadsheet setup. It can be customized with whatever columns/data capture your project would need. However, the interface can quickly become overwhelming as your list of tasks grows for a project. Also, the site has gone down several times and experienced outages, which makes it less reliable. Additionally, it is very basic, so zooming in a regular browser window or accessing via mobile devices is difficult or unavailable.

Smartsheet is a very basic offering, but lets you customize spreadsheets to fit your exact needs (or use a template that fits your needs). You can also then create forms that can be saved by users to input information and provide updates. It’s great for a company that’s just starting out and looking for something simple to streamline the information being captured and contain it all in one location.
