We use Stack Overflow because we’re mostly hiring engineers. We use Stack Overflow for engineers and Dribbble for design. It works very well. Hiring engineers is work, because they don’t really apply. You have to be sort of proactive to find candidates rather than them finding you, but we’ve found the quality of candidates to be excellent.

We have used Stack Overflow for technical recruiting. We are considering a tool to manage the hiring process.

We have hired from Stack Overflow and contests as well.

We tried Stack Overflow, but it was really disappointing.

We’ve had the most success with Stack Overflow Careers. We’ve also used probably 20 different recruiters, but they seem to value getting you on the phone more than actually helping you recruit great employees. We’ve explored Hired, we’re in the beta group for Indeed Prime, and we’ve tried AngelList, but so far Stack Overflow has been the best.

We tried Stack Overflow Careers, and we found some good people on there, but so many were passive. We didn’t get a lot of responses, and on top of that, it’s expensive—fortunately they offer a full refund if you’re not satisfied. I think it could be good, and we might try them again, but our first experience was not very fruitful.
